There is little detail in the plans regarding the relationship of all the components on the flap and brake hardware on the left side of the fuselage. Spent some time remaking some parts to make things work as expected.
In the first picture I remade L04-05 rev A to fit inside the vertical angles. Since the brake lever moves between the two brackets, I installed flush rivets to ensure clearance. I had to redo the rivets when I discovered the bolt cannot be installed with the brackets fastened together. After another trial fit, the bottom bolt should probably be a flathead to allow more movement of the brake handle. I'll need to redo the rivets a third time.
Updrilled the flap rod attachment and installed the bushings in the flap push rods.
Installed the Azuza cable retainers and a pulley on the end of the brake lever. The necessary cable retainer around the pulley still needs fabrication and installation. The cable shown is only a test fit. I needed to adjust the position of the retainers and pulley for a straight pull based on where my brake handle ended up positioned.
